I think i've played 1 game of poker since i last posted ...................................... so nothing to report on the poker front ................................ not really the best news to report in a poker blog. I should be playing the Virgin V-points freeroll tommorrow though and from now on will hopefully be able to get back to playing a bit more regularly again.

Tonight as i'm writing this entry i'm playing the Virgin Poker V - points freeroll, and its the first game i've played for over 2 weeks ............................ so not much to blog about recently. I've been working 11 hour shifts for the last couple of weeks and having to go to bed early (aren't promotions fun .................. at least i get more money :-) ) ........... things should be getting back to normal this week as far as my working hours go, but as i'm now going to be getting up an hour earlier than i used to most poker games are going to be finishing a bit too late for me :-(

I guess i'll just have to see how things go

Time Off

Not really had much to write on a poker front as i've been busy at work, and the few games i have played recently i've not really managed to get into and have been happy to get finished ................. not really the most productive way to play poker. So i've not really been playing much, though last night i did play my second game of H.O.R.S.E .....................which went slightly better than the last one as i made the final table .......................... I made some stupid moves at times, but at least this time i was playing the right games at the right times, which always helps :0)

The Week So Far

So far this week i have played 3 tournaments and managed pretty unspectacular results in all of them. The main problem being i've been busy at work and have been shattered by the time i get home and end up taking chances i normally wouldn't as i want to go to bed. .............................. not the best way to play, so i decided it wasn't worth my while playing anymore this week.

Until tonight that is where i'll be playing my first HORSE (Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Stud event)tournament, since i'm a bit hazzy on some of the rules of the games it should be interesting to say the least.................... i'm just going to sink a fewe vodkas and chill out tonight trying to figure out what the hell i'm doing :-)

I'll post how things go later ........................ Probably lol

My Poker Update

Since my last blog entry i've had a few good results which i can't be bothered dredging my memory to remember ........... But i managed to go 26 days in a row as Punters Lounge Best Poker Player (BPP) ................. not bad considering that Morlspin is the nearest to me with 14 days as BPP :0)

Though as much fun as it is to pat myself on the back, the length of time i spent at the top was mostly due to me getting some good results in the space of 8 or 9 days giving me a long time before i had to drop one. As i only play half the focus games (or less) I doubt i'll be heading back to the top anytime soon :0( .......................... but it was fun while it lasted

I should have written about this ages ago as i've been back a week.

I had a great weekend , drank quite a bit, met up with some PL members i knew and met up with some more i had only played against online. so it was great being able to put faces to the names .............................. and for once I actually made a nice wee profit on the live games of poker Instead of going out on the bubble (3rd time ever playing live)

I also got to enjoy the view of lots of models wandering around topless on the beach .................. its a tough life ............................ unfortunately it was over all too quickly ............... but it was a great weekend was put on by goalpoker so they deserve a big Thankyou.

Mansion $500 added

Its strange really, but i never used to bother with freerolls with prize pools as small as $500 (which is effectively what the $500 added is) but its been a really successful tournament for me over the last few weeks, friday night i ended up getting 4th place out of about 330 people.

So Near and Yet So Far

Last night i ended up finishing 4th in the Poker Dome Qualifier. Unfortunately it's a winner takes all competition so i ended up with nothing, but getting 4th out of about 470ish players was another good result .

Still........................... flights to Vagas, accomodation, $500 to gamble in the casino and a place in a televised final would have been nice.............................. Maybe next time.

On the final table my hands just seemed to dry up, i got AQ once and knocked out a short stack (which kept me in the running) but i didn't get much else and was up against 2 giant stacks so opportunities to steal were very limited.

But i can't really complain as earlier on in the tournament i dished out a bad beat which doubled me up and put me in a great position.

In the BB i flat called a min raise from the button with 88. The flop came down 8c 10d Jc. He bet the pot i re-raised, he went all in, i called and he turned over Q9o.............................. he'd flopped a straight, giving him the nuts.................................... fortunately a 10 came on the river to make my full house and i doubled up ................................... using up my supply of luck for the evening.

All of a sudden i seem to be consistently getting decent results and hitting the money in a high percentage of MTT's i'm playing ................... on thursday i was playing 4 mtt's at the same time and got 5th place in the virgin PL league game, came 16th out of 400- odd people in the Mansion poker dome qualifier (unfortunately only 1st place paid out) made it to the last 60-odd for the pacific poker wsop tournament and then i won the Mansion $500 added tournament ( the same comp i came second in on sunday) then last night i came 10th in the $500 added.

I'm really enjoying playing poker again and the results are going well, so sometime soon I'll get round to writing a post about why i think that is ........................ but i can't be bothered doing it now. lol

As well as the ibiza trip i also came 2nd out of 294 people in the mansion $500 added tournament ......................... 2nd was slightly disapointing as although it was a great heads up game with the chip lead going back and forth, i was confident i would be able to beat him. Unfortuanately time was getting on and by 1.40 am i had to face the fact that i was getting up for work at 6.20 am, and that 1st place only paid about $45 more than 2nd.................. so i took a few risks which didn't work out :-(

On the plus side i also got my third ever Royal Flush in that game

I Won a tournament on Saturday on goal poker, first prize was for me +1 to go to the goal Poker Ibiza world cup Party, The tournament had a $10 entry fee, but amazingly only 6 people entered.......................... the winner also took all the prize money as well :-)

The flight leaves from Gatwick on the morning of the 8th july and i fly back on the evening of the 10th .................. the only thing that i know will be happening is spending the Sunday evening (the 9th) watching the world cup final on a big screen on a beach in Ibiza with a free bar and some models from Maxim magazine ............................ Happiness

Getting up to date

Ok ........... so since the blogger Freeroll i've still not been playing any where near as much poker as i used to, with hardly any cash games played and mostly playing freerolls and Punterslounge league games. Looking on the brightside, i have managed to get a few good results in the games i have played, which included winning the virgin v-points freeroll.

1st prize was 30,000 v-points, which if you covert them to cash have a value of 1p each , so a prize of £300 ...........................making it my biggest Multi Table Tournament win so far. I've also made quite a few final tables so things have been going not too bad lately

In the end i finished 10th out of 72 .................. so i was first knocked out of the final table.

The prizes were- 1st WSOP package,2nd 90,000 V-points, 3rd 60,000 V-points, 4th 40,000 V-points, 5th 30,000 V-points, 6th 20,000 V-points, 7th 10,000 V-points.

..............never mind eh!!!!!

Overall i'm quite happy about how i played, i started off playing as tight as a camels arse in a sandstorm, but didn't really have many good starting hands for the entire game -JJ was the best pocket pair i had , and i also had a few AK's and AQ's. Apart from that , not a lot ......................... i had to keep going by stealing blinds and stealing a few pots.

Overall I can't complain though as even though my starting hands weren't the best there were a few hands where the cards fell kindly for me which kept me in it

On the final table i ended up being the shortest stack, and went all-in with A4o in a last ditch effort to stay in ........................ moface called with A10 and won so i have no complaints about my exit. As i said before i was generally happy with my play, it just wasn't my night.

It was nice to see so many PL members on the final table though...................... hopefully 1 will end up at the wsop

The Uefa cup final meant no poker tonight, so not a lot to report ....................... i'll just have to save the best for the Virgin bloggers Freeroll tommorrow night ( thats if my screenname eventually shows up in the lobby..................... fingers crossed) .........................actually i'll probably have an early exit, but what the hell lol.

Well i've probably picked the worst time to start a poker blog as i haven't been playing very much poker for the last couple of months. With the nights getting longer i seem to have come out of my winter hibernation, cooped up behind a computer screen in the evening. Instead, the dog is getting a lot of walking, i'm swimming 3 times a week and have bought a motorcycle ........................ it hasn't left too much time for poker, and when i have played i've ended up becoming restless after the first 1-2 hours of a MTT (very unlike me) and making some poor decisions (not entirely unlike me lol) ................... so this week i'm going to start playing a few $0.25/0.50 cash tables and maybe play a few low buy-in STT's to get me back into the swing of things.
